You can open a new post from three places: the + New post button at the top of the left menu, the Write a new post card on the Dashboard, or + New post at the top right of the Publish page.
The editor toolbar
- ← Posts: Back to the Publish list. The post’s status (Draft, Published…) is shown next to it.
- Write with AI: Write from scratch or edit the current post. See writing with AI.
- Save draft: Saves the post without publishing.
- Publish: Opens the publish window. When editing a published post this button becomes Update.
- The icon on the far right opens and closes the Post settings panel.
Title, content and feature image
- Click Add feature image or video: pick one From library, Upload it or Generate with AI.
- Type the title in the Post title field and the content below it.
- For the content you can use formatting (bold, italic, Heading 2/3, quote, link, list) and cards (image, gallery, video, YouTube, X/Twitter, divider, button, HTML and more).
The feature image has these buttons: Change, Enhance image quality (sharpens it with AI), Add alt text (for accessibility and SEO) and Remove.
Post settings panel
- Excerpt: A short summary (up to 300 characters).
- SEO Title (up to 70 characters) and SEO Description (up to 160 characters): if left empty, the post title and excerpt are used. Get suggestions with Generate title with AI / Generate description with AI.
- The post URL and publish date can also be edited here.
Sites to share
At the bottom of the panel, choose the sites the post will be published on. For each site you choose, you set separately:
- Publish as: The post’s author (from that site’s team).
- Categories: One or more of that site’s categories.
- Content Type: News or Column Article. Column articles are also listed in the Column Articles tab of the Publish page.
- Social Media: If a social account is connected to the site, the post is shared there too. See social media sharing.
- Web Push Notification: When on, subscribers get a notification when the post is published. Requires the Pro plan; Starter sites show an “Upgrade plan” link.
Publishing
- Click Publish at the top.
- With Right now selected, publish with Publish post →. If you pick a future date the button becomes Schedule post →. See scheduling.
The post is sent to the chosen sites in the background; on the Publish page you’ll see its status as “Sharing…”, “Shared” or “Partially shared”.
Tip
You need a title and at least one site before publishing. When you edit a published post and click Update, the change goes live on the site too.
