Categories and menu layout

Categories are your site’s sections (Politics, Sports, Business…). The menu decides how readers reach them. Both are in the Websites → Manage menu.

Categories

The Categories page has News Categories and Video Categories tabs. Main categories and their subcategories are listed as a tree with their addresses and story counts.

1. Click + Add New Category at the top right (or + Add Subcategory next to a category).
2. Enter the Category Name and URL Name (Slug); the category appears on the site at /slug.
3. If you choose a Parent Category, it becomes a subcategory (submenu) under it; otherwise it’s a main category.
4. Optionally set a Description, Category Color and Menu Order (lower numbers come first).
5. Click Create Category.

Menu

The Menu page lists the items in your site’s top menu in order. Each item has these tools:

• Drag (the handle on the left) or the up / down arrows: Change the order.
• → / ← arrows: Make the item a submenu of the item above, or move it out of the submenu.
• Edit: Menu Title, Target URL, Icon, Mini Badge (e.g. NEW, LIVE, AI) and Open in new tab.
• Delete: Removes the item from the menu.

Use + Add Item below the list to add a category, an extra page or an external link.
