What is an e-newspaper and how do you take a paper digital?
An e-newspaper is the print-ready PDF of a newspaper published online. For local and regional papers, it is the easiest way to reach readers without a distribution network, keep a permanent archive and make the paper visible in search.
On Ulakom, the e-newspaper works as a feature of your news site; you don't set up a separate site or platform. Upload each new issue from your news site's dashboard; the cover is created automatically, the issue goes live at its own URL on your news site, and your paper appears first on the Newspaper Headlines page.
Your paper's identifier is generated from your site name. Even if you don't use the national headlines module, your newspaper page stays live and lists only your paper.
For local newspapers
- Reach readers beyond your distribution area
- A permanent digital archive of print issues
- Each issue is its own page in search
- Easy for readers to share
- Reading analytics per issue
