News bots scan the sources you set at regular intervals and publish the new content they find on your site. At most one new post is published per run. Bots are managed on the Bots page in the left menu.

Bot types

When you click + Add new bot, you choose the bot type:

WebsiteSource category URL

Give the address of any site’s category page. The bot opens the story links on that page and publishes one new story per run. No RSS needed.

Create from scratch with AIKeywords

Give a keyword list; on each run the bot writes an original post for the next keyword. See AI bot.

FacebookPage or group URL

Turns posts from a public Facebook page or group into articles. See Facebook bots.

Google MapsSector and location

Pulls business details from Google Maps into your site’s Business Directory.

Twitter / X

Step 1: Name, source and scan interval

  1. Name: A name you’ll recognise the bot by (e.g. Technology News).
  2. Source category URL: Enter the address of the category/list page, not a single story (e.g. a site’s “Politics” page). The bot opens the article links on that page.
  3. Scan interval: Choose a number and unit (Minutes, Hours, Days). For example “1 Day” means once a day, “6 Hours” every six hours.

Step 2: Source protection

With Auto-pause on empty scans (Source protection) on, if the source has no new content for the number of days you set (e.g. 3 days), the bot pauses itself and emails you, so no credits are wasted.

Step 3: Where and how to publish

  • Platform to share: Website only / Website and social media / Social media only.
  • Site: The site the posts will be published on.
  • Author: Site default author or someone from your team. Posts are published under this user.
  • Default category: The category posts go into.
  • Post status: Publish (straight to live), Draft or Pending review.

Step 4: AI and images

  • Rewrite with AI before publishing: The fetched content is rewritten with the model you choose. You can keep the title and content separately or rewrite them with your own instructions. Costs are charged to your credit balance by actual usage.
  • Images: Feature image, AI-generated feature images and what to do when the source has no image (skip the article, use the default image, publish without an image).
  • Placeholder feature image filter: Recognises covers like the source site’s “no image” picture by file name and skips the post or replaces the image.

For filters, find-and-replace, keyword links and other options see advanced bot settings.

Tip

Write “Help me create this bot step by step” or “Keep the cost as low as possible” to the AI assistant at the top right of the form; it fills in the settings for you.

Step 5: Check the cost and save

The estimated credit cost per post and per day appears at the bottom of the form (e.g. “~0.003 credits / post · ~0.003 credits / day”). Click Create bot. To try it right away, click Run now on its card.

The bot card

  • The bot’s name, status (Active / Paused), source address and “Daily · Next run: …”.
  • Edit (pencil), Copy bot, Run now, Pause / Resume and Delete buttons.
  • Recent runs: The result of each run (e.g. “Completed · 1 item sent”).

Bot status and messages

MessageMeaning
Completed (no new content)The source has no new story the bot hasn’t processed
No new article links found on the category pageThe address isn’t a category page or the page structure has changed
Source site blocked by a firewall or bot protectionThe source blocks automated access; try another source
All keywords usedThe AI bot’s list is used up; add new keywords and resume

Tip

Publishing the same story twice is prevented automatically. We recommend starting your first bot in Draft status and switching to Publish after reviewing a few posts.
