Language versions are managed under **Websites → Manage → Languages**. A version of your site in another language is published on a subpath of the same domain (e.g. yoursite.com/en).

> **Tip:** Each language site is **a separate site with its own stories, team and subscription**. Stories aren’t translated automatically; you publish separately in each language.

## Adding a language site

1. In the **Language Sites** box, click **+ Add new language**.
2. **1. Language:** Choose the language, enter the **Path** (e.g. /en) and the **Site name**.
3. **2. Design:** Choose the language site’s starter design.
4. **3. Plan:** Choose a plan for the language site and complete the payment.

Added language sites appear in the list with their path, address and language. **Detach** separates a language site from the main site.

## Content linking

Link a story to its counterpart in the other language: mutual **hreflang** tags are written on both pages and the site’s language switcher takes readers straight to that story in the other language.

1. Search for and select the story under **Story on this site**.
2. Choose the language site under **Counterpart site**, then search for and select the story there.
3. Click **Link**.

## Right-to-left languages

For right-to-left languages such as Arabic, the language site’s design adapts automatically.
