# Import and export

> Move your design and settings with one file; export or import posts, categories, ads, videos and menus.

Transfers are on the **Websites → Manage → Import/Export** page (below Languages in the site menu).

## Design and settings

Page layout, header and footer, theme color, logo, site icon, site name and description are exported to a single file. **Import** applies immediately and updates the design preview and the live site. Your custom domain isn’t included (it’s specific to the site).

> **Tip:** This is the easiest way to copy a design you like from one site to another: **Export** on one, **Import** on the other.

## Content

You can **Export** / **Import** these separately: **Posts, Categories, Ads, Videos, Menu**.

- Transfers run in the background, step by step. Even with millions of records they don’t slow your site down; you can close the tab and come back later.
- If you tick **Include images (.zip)** for posts, the file is prepared as a .zip, so imported posts come with their own images even if the originals are deleted.
- Completed or failed jobs stay in the list for 7 days; download your export file within that time.

> **Tip:** **Importing a menu replaces** your site’s current custom menu. Export your current menu first as a backup.

> **Tip:** Always export before cancelling your subscription. Deleted sites can’t be restored.
