# Create your first news site

> Open a site in three steps from the Websites page: name and address, starter design and plan. Then add your first content.

New sites are created on the **Websites** page at the bottom left. Click **+ Add new site** at the top right (or the **+ Add new site** box at the end of the list); the **Create your website** window has three steps.

## Step 1/3: Site name and address

1. **Site Name:** Enter your site’s name (e.g. Technology and Current News).
2. **Site Address:** Choose your Ulakom subdomain (e.g. yournews.ulakom.com). The window checks availability and shows **This address is available**.
3. Click **Continue**.

You don’t enter your own domain (yournews.com) here; you connect it whenever you like after the site is created. See [connect your domain](https://ulakom.com/md/en/help/sites/connect-domain.md).

## Step 2/3: Starter design

Your site opens ready with the design, categories, menu and sample content you choose. Pick a ready-made template such as **General News** (headline-focused, for national news sites), check it with **Live preview**, or start empty with **Blank site**.

## Step 3/3: Plan

Choose **Starter** or **Pro** and monthly or yearly billing, then click **Continue and Pay**. Yearly billing gives 2 months free and includes the [setup service](https://ulakom.com/md/en/help/sites/setup-service.md) as a gift.

> **Tip:** A newly created site whose payment isn’t completed within 72 hours is deleted.

## Removing the sample content

A site created from a template comes with sample stories. At the top of the **Publish** page you’ll see “… has demo content”; click **Delete demo content** to remove it in one go. Categories, menu, pages and design are kept.
