Acceptance into Google News is Google’s decision. Ulakom prepares your site with the technical structure Google News expects; the content and transparency side is yours to complete.

## What Ulakom does automatically

- NewsArticle schema, author, date and image data on every story.
- The news sitemap is updated with every new story.
- Pages are optimised to score well on speed metrics.
- Large images are served in sizes suitable for Discover.

## What you need to complete

- **Imprint and contact:** Create an imprint page with the publisher, editor in chief and contact details: **Manage → Extra Pages → Custom Page**. See [extra pages](https://ulakom.com/md/en/help/design/extra-pages.md).
- **Author pages:** Every author should have a profile with a photo and bio. Authors fill in their own bio under profile menu → **Settings → Profile**. See [account settings](https://ulakom.com/md/en/help/account/profile-settings.md).
- **Original content:** Don’t publish content copied from other sites. Keep AI rewriting on in bots and review as an editor.
- **Regular publishing:** Publish several stories every day; keep dates and updates accurate.
- **Search Console:** Add your site to Search Console with **Manage → SEO → Connect with Google**. See [Search Console](https://ulakom.com/md/en/help/seo/sitemap-search-console.md).

## Applying

When you’re ready, add your publication through Google Publisher Center. Before applying, scan your site with our free [Google News eligibility checker](https://ulakom.com/md/en/tools/google-news-checker.md).

> **Tip:** Google News and Discover are different: you don’t apply to Discover; good-quality content with images is recommended automatically. See our [comparison page](https://ulakom.com/md/en/compare/google-news-vs-discover.md) for details.
