# Publish page-flip e-magazines on your news site

> Create e-magazines on your news site: publish PDF magazines as page-flip digital magazines, with an SEO-friendly URL, archive and analytics for every issue.

E-Magazine is a built-in feature of your Ulakom news site. Upload your magazine PDF from your news site's dashboard; the cover is created automatically and the issue reads like a real magazine, right next to your news, on your own domain. No separate platform, app or fee.

## Highlights

- **3D** page-flip animation
- **100 MB** PDF per issue
- **Every issue** with its own SEO URL
- **Included** with every Ulakom news site

## Inside your news site, as enjoyable as print

Your issues become a section of your news site: readers move from news to magazine in one click, and search engines see each issue as its own page on your site.

- **Page-flip reader:** Pages turn like a real magazine, with shadows and a spine curve. Double pages on wide screens, single pages on phones.
- **Comfortable on any device:** Navigate with arrow keys, clicks and swipes; zoom up to 3×, page thumbnails and full screen.
- **Search engine friendly:** Every issue has its own URL, SEO title and description, structured data and readable text extracted from the PDF, and is added to the sitemap with its cover.
- **Sharing and downloads:** Readers share issues on Facebook, X, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Telegram and email. Turn PDF downloads on or off per issue.
- **Per-issue analytics:** See views, visitors, reading time and traffic sources for each issue.
- **Fast, even for large issues:** The whole file is never downloaded; only the pages being read and their neighbours load. The cover shows while loading.

## What is an e-magazine and how do you create one?

An e-magazine is the digital edition of a print magazine. The most common approach is publishing the print-ready PDF on your website with a page-flip (flipbook) reader, so readers browse it in the browser without installing an app.

Many flipbook tools host the magazine on their own site or in an embedded window, so the visits and search value do not stay with you. On Ulakom, the e-magazine is a feature of your news site: issues are published on the same site as your news, on your own domain, appear in your menu, are indexed at their own URLs, and their visits land in your news site's analytics.

To create an e-magazine, click New issue in the dashboard and drop in the PDF. The cover is generated from the first page, the issue name is suggested from the file name, and page count and file size are calculated automatically.

**Automatic for every issue**

- Cover image (from the first page)
- Its own permanent URL and canonical tag
- Open Graph and Twitter cards
- PublicationIssue structured data
- Sitemap entry with cover image
- Magazine text extracted from the PDF

## What's in the reader toolbar?

Everything readers need in one row; on phones the toolbar is simplified to fit the screen.

- **Page box:** Shows the current page; type a number to jump to it.
- **Pages:** Thumbnails of every page; click to jump.
- **Zoom:** 1×, 1.5×, 2× and 3×; pages are re-rendered in high resolution when zoomed.
- **Full screen:** Opens the magazine across the whole screen.
- **Single / double page:** Switches the view; the preference is remembered.
- **Share:** Social networks, email and copy link.
- **Download:** Downloads the PDF; only shown on issues where you allow it.
- **Sound:** Turns the page-turn sound on or off.

## An e-magazine in three steps

1. **Upload the PDF:** In the dashboard, open E-Magazine → New issue and drop in a PDF of up to 100 MB.
2. **Check the details:** Cover, issue name and page count are ready; edit the publish date, description and SEO text.
3. **Publish:** The new issue opens first on the e-magazine page; earlier issues appear on the archive shelf.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need a separate site or software for an e-magazine?

No. E-Magazine is a built-in feature of your Ulakom news site; your magazines are published on your news site, on your own domain. No separate flipbook tool, plugin, app or extra fee is needed.

### Will my e-magazine show up on Google?

Every issue has its own permanent URL, SEO title and description, structured data and readable text from the PDF, and is added to the sitemap automatically, so search engines treat each issue as its own page.

### Can I stop readers from downloading the PDF?

Yes. Each issue has a "Allow PDF download" setting. When off, the download button is hidden and the download URL is closed; the issue can still be read in the reader.

### How does it look on phones?

On phones the magazine shows one page at a time, pages turn with a swipe, and the toolbar is simplified to fit.

### Don't large PDFs load slowly?

No. The whole file is never downloaded; only the pages being read and those nearby load. The cover and a loading percentage show meanwhile.

### Can I upload scanned PDFs?

Yes, the reader works fine. Text cannot be extracted from scanned (image) PDFs, so the "Magazine text" section is not shown.
